The ITS Private Cloud offers a VPN service that enables client to securily access their virtual resources and other orchestration tools like the ITS Private Cloud API.

Eligibility

Every ITS Private Cloud client is entitled to use the VSS VPN service.
Unlike UTORvpn, the VSS VPN service requires an account managed and provided by the VSS team.

Policy

To ensure a safe and efficient service, all users are required to follow this usage policy, which includes the following terms and conditions:

1. Account Usage:
   The account must only be used by the registered individual.
   The account is not transferable to any other person or entity.
   Users are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential. Account credentials must not be shared with anyone else.
2. Service Access:
   Use of a VSS VPN is subject to the University's guidelines on Appropriate use of Technology and must only be used to manage ITS Private Cloud resources, including access to Virtual Machine Console via vCenter Server, S3 Storage Interface, API, or CLI.

3. Network Usage:
   Users must not interfere with the operation of the VSS VPN service or any other component of the ITS Private Cloud or systems connected to it. Any attempts to overload or disrupt this service are strictly prohibited.
4. Account Suspension:
   We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any ITS Private Cloud account that violates this usage policy.
5. Technical Support:
   Any technical issues related to the VSS VPN service should be addressed by email to "vss {at} eis.utoronto.ca."
   Please note: we do not provide support for third-party software or hardware.

By using the VSS VPN service, you agree to abide by this usage policy.
